Eeesh.. I guess it’s been a while, sorry about that. I started a new job in April and it way more engaging than my last so my free time for doing things like this have been impacted.
I took the photos in todays post at a local charity duck race event which was supported by my daughter’s school.

Hundreds of people sponsored thousands of ducks in the hope theirs would win and that would get a not insignificant cash prize.
Ten heats were had, each of around 4,000 ducks (that’s 40,000 ducks!!!) followed by a final selecting the fastest 3 ducks.

Unfortunately we didn’t win despite having 25 ducks with our name on them. It was interesting none the less as I don’t think I have ever seen that many ducks; live or toys.

It boggles the mind purchasing so many ducks. As I understand these ducks tour the nation racing at similar events all over the place. They are boxed up and loaded onto trucks taking them from place to place where they are released into a pool, launched along a ‘track’ before being gathered back, dried out and packed away again.
