One Image Wednesday – finding shade

I took this in June during our visit home to England. We visited Devon and this was shot at the lovely coastal town of Appledore.

It was a gorgeous sunny day which is far from apparent in this photo as the sky looks full of cloud; which is was the other side of the estuary (or maybe it’s a confluence as two rivers join here as they flow out to sea).

Anyway this couple and there dog were enjoying a relaxing time while sitting on this bench and I could not help but take a photo especially as the dog under the bench having found a shady spot has his nose nicely highlighted.

I took this with my favourite digital camera; the Olympus Pen-F with the excellent 45mm M Zuiko 1.8 attached. I decided to render this image in black and white and I really like how it came out – I do like it in colour too though and debated long and hard over which works best. Next week I’ll publish a similar image in colour and you can judge for yourselves
