Well that was 2022

I only managed 19 posts last year which is a little disappointing. A change in work and a bunch of other projects took over my time and this blog paid the price for it.

My struggle with photography has continued throughout the year either because I’ve been too busy or just not had the inspiration – I am developing some sort of apathy to it. I did take over 4,800 photos over the year so maybe not (?) only about 150 were made using film cameras the rest mostly travel and family photos. Not that film is the only part of photography here, I love all forms. So why haven’t I been posting photos much?…mainly I just don’t feel that many of the photos I have taken this year are ‘worthy’ of this blog and your attention – I think sometimes I am over critical.

As I said I did make a huge change in my job; leaving a role I’ve been in for over 15 years and taking on a new challenge, well not even a “new” challenge just a challenge full stop, My old job did not challenge me at all and I had lots of idle time to think about other things (like photography) Now I am fully occupied and by the time I am done I am spent. That’s probably a good thing 🙂

I mentioned other projects and I am very proud of the table I built from scratch for our patio; it was a huge project for me and the first attempt at anything like this. The 9½ foot result though is everything I hoped it would be – it weights a ton!

We used it for the first time on Christmas Day (as the weather turned quite warm) and it was perfect.

I did add a few cameras to my collection this last year including another Olympus Mirrorless, Zeiss Ikon Contessa, Miranda F, a second Voigtländer Vitessa 1000SR and a Voigtländer Perkeo II. I did also manage to sell a few cameras though not as many as I should have

So we’ll see what this new year brings and what I can achieve; in the meantime here are a few favorite shots from 2022…
